1991

Emperor Group donated HKD300,000 to a relief fund initiated by Hong Kong’s performing arts sector, Hong Kong Red Cross and other charity organizations in response to the serious flooding in Eastern China.

In the same year, Emperor Group made another HKD100,000 sponsorship to a Po Leung Kuk charity show.

1992

Emperor Group donated RMB500,000 to ‘Xiamen Education Fund’ to promote education development in the city.

Donated HKD100,000 to ‘Operation Smile-China Medical Mission’ for children with facial deformities in the mainland.

Made HKD100,000 sponsorship to a charity ball organized by Hong Kong Girl Guides Association.

1993

Emperor Group donated a total of HKD300,000 to a large-scale TV program and a flag day of the Community Chest of Hong Kong for charity purpose.

In the same year, Emperor Group donated another HKD200,000 to the Medical School, Chinese University of Hong Kong for procurement of some new medical equipment, contributing to the field of medical research and development.

1994

Emperor Group donated RMB 5.5 million to ‘Ministry of Justice PRC Education Fund’.

 

In the same year, Emperor Group donated RMB 1 million to ‘Chinese University of Political Science and Law – C.U.P.L Mr. Albert Yeung Education Fund’ of Chinese University of Political Science and Law for academic development.

1995

Emperor Group set up ‘Emperor Group Scholarship’ in a number of Hong Kong universities to award students with outstanding achievements.

1996

Emperor Group donated HKD100,000 to ‘Operation Concern’ to help the physically disabled in the mainland by providing better treatment and rehabilitation services.

Emperor Group donated HKD100,000 to Hong Kong Aids Foundation in support of its promotion and education campaigns.

Emperor Group donated HKD100,000 to ‘Hong Kong Marrow Match Foundation’ to help patients suffering from fatal blood diseases.

Donated HKD 1 million in the name of both Emperor Group and Chairman Dr. Albert Yeung to ‘Defending Diaoyu Island Emergency Fund’.

1997

'Emperor Foundation' was established for better coordination of our charity services in China and Hong Kong.

 

In the same year, 'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD200,000 to Heep Hong Society for the procurement of a 8-seat van for the use of children in need.

1998

'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD18.5 million to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in constructing 'Tung Wah Group Yeung Sing Memorial Long Stay Care Home'.

 

 

In the same year, Emperor Group's Chairman Dr. Albert Yeung paid a visit to flood-devastated Hubei on behalf of 'Emperor Foundation' and donated HKD 2 million for food and medical supplies.

1999

'Emperor Foundation' donated RMB 10 million to Peking University and set up 'Peking University Education Fund'.

2000

'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD 1 million to the Community Chest of Hong Kong in the annual 'Community for the Chest Television Show'.

2001

'Emperor Foundation' sponsored HKD 100,000 in support of the famous artiste Mr. Roman Tam's singing performance in the annual 'Community for the Chest Television Show'.

2002

'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD130,000 to the program 'Suicide Prevention Services – Never Fall Down'.

 

'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD300,000 to the Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong for the establishment of the 'Suicide Prevention Society Centre' and 'Life Education Centre'.

 

In the same year, 'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD 50,000 to China University of Political Science.

2003

'Emperor Foundation' donated HKD 1 million to 'Business Community Relief Fund for Victims of SARS'.

2004

Dr. Albert Yeung together with Dr. Jackie Chan donated RMB 12 million and set up the 'Jackie Chan and Albert Yeung Charity Foundation' in the mainland.

 

In the same year, 'Hong Kong Daily News Foundation' was also established to capitalize on the newspaper's role as a significant player in the local media for more effective fund raising.

2005

'Emperor Foundation' donated over HKD 4 million to the Hong Kong Red Cross in response to the Tsunami in South Asia.

 

2006

'Emperor Foundation' contributed RMB 5 million to kick off 'Charity Federation of Hubei & Emperor Group Elderly Foundation', and established "Hubei Hong Kong Emperor Elderly Care Centre".

 

'Emperor Foundation' donated RMB 5 million to Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University.

 

In the same year, 'Jackie Chan and Albert Yeung Charity Foundation' donated RMB 2.8 million to build an elderly home and children's home in Baoding City, Hebei Province.

2007

'Emperor Foundation' further donated HKD 3.4 million and develop hospice services in collaboration with 'Social Workers Across Border' in the elderly home we sponsored in Baoding city in 2006.

 

In the same year, 'Emperor Foundation' sponsored and invested a total sum of RMB 25 million to Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University, became one of the new shareholders of the Institute and gave rise to 'Emperor Group Art Performance School, Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University'.

2008

"Emperor Foundation" made a donation of approximately HKD 1.5 million to support snow disaster relief in China, including a series of visits to Hubei elderly homes with winter wears as gifts to occupants, initiated by "Social Workers Across Borders".

 

The hospice service that "Emperor Foundation", "Charity Federation of Hubei Province" and "Social Workers Across Borders" brought to Hubei in 2006 won "The Most Influential Charity Project Nomination Award" presented by the PRC's Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2007.

 

Jacky Chan and Albert Yeung Charity Foundation" donated RMB 10 million dollars to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC as a special fund to support relief efforts promptly on the following day of the massive earthquake in Sichuan. On behalf of Emperor Group, EEG artistes Joey Yung and Nicholas Tse presented a cheque of HKD 2,064,124 to Mr. Li Gang (1st left), Deputy Director, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, as the Group’s condolences to Sichuan earthquake victims. Half of the sum was donated by all Emperor Group staff and the other half was from Dr. Albert Yeung as a matching fund to employee contributions.

 

Dr. Albert Yeung made a donation of HKD 5 million to support "Artistes 512 Fund Raising Campaign", the concert staged by artistes from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan as an effort to help relief works in quake-hit Sichuan. Dr. Albert Yeung awarded RMB12.6 million to Beijing Olympic gold medalists to encourage Chinese athletes to further strive for greater glory for the country. Gold medalists' representatives Guo Jingjing, Yang Wei, Zhong Man, Liu Chunhong, Du Li, Meng Guanliang and Liu Zige attended the award presentation ceremony.

 

"Emperor Foundation", "Emperor Entertainment Group" and "Social Workers Across Borders" jointly held a friendship tour to Leigu, a quake hit town in Beichuan County, Sichuan Province on Mid-autumn Festival. Over 60 staff and artistes formed a volunteer team to pay a visit of condolence to the people there. They made home visits with festive gift packs, built sports facilities, offered family photo taking service, and gave a simple singing performance. Dr. Albert Yeung won the China Charity Award – The Most Caring Individual Donor Award in the 2nd China Charity Conference, as recognition of his outstanding contributions to charity works in China. 2009

Emperor Group has been awarded with "Caring Companies Logo" by Hong Kong Council of Social Service every year since 2004/2005. This year, the Group has further won "5 Consecutive Years Caring Company Logo", proving our continous dedication to contributing to the community.

 

Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation donated RMB 1,200,000 and co-established the "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Shun Ping) Elderly Service Centre" in Shun Ping County, He Bei Province with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the County. Dr. Albert Yeung won the "2009 Top 10 charitable Persons" award from China Association of Social Workers and was listed on the "China's Charity Chart 2009", a chart issued yearly by the Association.

 

"Emperor Foundation" and "Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care" (SPHC) jointly organized a charity event "Walk for Hospice 2009". Over 100 Emperor staff formed teams to join the walk and helped raise fund for SPHC's promotion of hospice and palliative care . Over 40 Emperor Group staff and EEG artistes joined a volunteer tour organized by "Emperor Foundation" to Wuhan, Hubei Province. The volunteers visited "Hubei Hong Kong Emperor Elderly Care Centre" and two other elderly homes in Wuhan. They prepared lunches, held parties, refurnished the facilities and made donations including overcoats, wheelchairs and crutches to the elderly.

2010

In response to the earthquake in Yushu County, Qinghai Province, "Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation" donated HKD 5 million to Liaison Office of the CPG in HKSAR as a support to the relief work in the affected area. Dr. Albert Yeung met Mr. Hui Liangyu (right), Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice-Premier of the State Council and Member of its Leading Party Members' Group, in Ziguang Pavilion of Zhong Nan Hai after he won the China Charity Award – The Most Caring Individual Donor Award, second time in a row, in the China Charity Conference 2009.
Dr. Yeung was also once again elected "Top 10 Philanthropists" and included in the "China's Charity Chart 2010".

 

Since its launch in 2007, "Emperor Hospice Service Programme" has not only benefited numerous solitary elderly in Hubei, but also pioneered hospice service development in the mainland. In 2010, Dr. Yeung Sau Shing Albert further donated RMB 3.55 million in the name of "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation" to Social Workers Across Borders as the programme's fund in the following 3 years.

 

Dr. Albert Yeung donated HKD 1 million in the name of "Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation" to "Social Workers Across Borders" to support the disaster relief efforts in mudslide-hit Zhouqu, Gansu Province. "Social Workers Across Borders" would purchase necessities for the victims and mobilize a disaster relief team to the affectecd area.

 

 

To promote hospice care, elderly services and life education, Emperor Foundation, Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care and St. James’ Settlement jointly organized “A Feast of Tastes” Charity Banquet for over a hundred senior citizens and terminal patients. The event raised a considerable sum of donation, part of which was used to buy old-time food for those who couldn’t attend the banquet while the rest was channelled to the two organizations as their operation funds.

 

"Emperor Foundation" and "Agency for Volunteer Service" jointly organized a volunteer trip to Shaoguan for Emperor Group's staff. The volunteers visited a primary school for underprivileged children in Qujiang district, Shaoguan. The volunteers gave class about Asian Games and visited some of the students' families to express their care.

2011

Mr. Hu Jintao, the President of the People's Republic of China, visited "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Shunping) Elderly Care Centre" on Chinese New Year's Eve and sent warm greetings to the elderly and orphans there. The visit became headline news of Xinwen Lianbo on China Central Television on the 1st day of Chinese New Year, showing the government's recognition of the centre's service quality.

 

Dr. Albert Yeung has been elected to be one of the Eighth "Top 10 Philanthropists" and entered the "China's Charity Chart" in 2011. This is the third consecutive year Dr. Yeung has received these honours since 2009. Dr. Albert Yeung was awarded the "China Charity Award - The Most Caring Individual Donor Award" at the sixth "China Charity Award" ceremony. Dr. Yeung was first given this honor in 2005 and has won it for the past 3 years running from 2008.

 

Over 40 Emperor Group staff from Hong Kong, Beijing and Macau offices joined a volunteer tour organized by "Emperor Foundation" to "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Shun Ping) Elderly Service Centre" in Shun Ping County, Hebei Province. The volunteers spent time with the elderly there, having a party, harvesting and planting in farms as well as learning Chinese calligraphy and painting from the elderly.

 

On Chinese New Year Eve 2011, Mr. Hu Jintao, the President of China, paid a visit to "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Shunping) Elderly Care Centre" and showed his immense approval. Dr. Albert Yeung was highly motivated and, later in November of the same year, decided to donate RMB 10 million to enhance the service with "Albert Yeung Sau Shing (Shunping, China) Elderly Service Centre", a new block built adjacent to the first benchmarking centre.

2012

Dr. Albert Yeung has been awarded the "China Charity Award - The Most Caring Individual Donor Award" at the seventh "China Charity Award" ceremony. It is the 5th time he has received the same award ever since 2005.

 

Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing has been elected one of the 2012 "Top 10 Philanthropists" and goes into the "China's Charity Chart". He receives congratulations form Zhang Rongming, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee (left).

 

Marking Emperor Group's 70th Anniversary, Emperor Foundation made a HK$5 million donation to ORBIS to fund the building of a New Generation Flying Eye Hospital. Mr. Jackie Chan, Ms. Joey Yung, and Mr. Leo Koo have also been mobilized to become "ORBIS New Flying Eye Hospital Commanders".

 

Nearly 60 Emperor Group staff volunteers visited a rural secondary school in Chongqing City. They met the students there, most of them living on their own in their home town while parents are working in the city, and had a glimpse of this social issue commonly found in most rural areas in China in recent years. The volunteers also brought with them a piano, a LED TV set and other teaching tools sponsored by the Group as gifts to the school.

 

Emperor Group donated HK$1.5 million to Cheng Si Yuan (China – Int'l) Hepatitis Research Foundation as funding to help hepatitis B virus carriers who need financial aid to receive further medication in order to prevent malignant diseases such as liver cancer and liver cirrhosis. The two parties also staged "Emperor Group 70th Anniversary presents: Hepatitis B Blood Test Day" to provide free blood test service to the public.
