Established in 1942, Emperor Watch & Jewellery is a cornerstone of Emperor Group’s business. In its early days, the Group was mainly a retailer of clocks and watches. However, beginning in the 60s, the Group started to sell fine jewellery products and later even went into the design and manufacture of its own luxury line. In July 2008, Emperor Watch & Jewellery Limited (Stock Code: 887) was listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited. Today, its retail stores span across Hong Kong, Macau and major cities in Mainland China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing.

With a history of nearly 70 years, the Group has laid down a deep and solid business foundation. Because of this, many international luxury brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe and Cartier have collaborated with Emperor Watch & Jewellery to open specialty shops. In 2009, the Company launched its first Emperor Jewellery flagship store at 1881 Heritage, a well-known heritage site in Tsim Sha Tsui. This strengthened the Group’s jewellery business as well as established its image.

Emperor Watch & Jewellery targets local customers as well as tourists with high purchasing power from different parts of the world. Hence, its shops are all located in upscale shopping districts with high traffic. For example, Russell Street in Causeway Bay is comparable to Fifth Avenue in New York and Champs-Elysees in Paris, and Canton Road in Tsim Sha Tsui where a lot of luxury brand stores can be found. In recent years, Emperor Watch & Jewellery has also opened a number of retail stores from first-tier to third-tier cities in Mainland China.

The Group is very much confident about the huge potential of the luxury goods market in Mainland China and plans to establish more strategic bases in order to increase its distribution network within the country. Plans are also underway for more resources to be invested in the development of the jewellery business since the Group aims to jointly expand its watch and jewellery business. In the future, Emperor Watch & Jewellery will continue to work with first-class watch brands to open specialty shops. This will not only help build customer loyalty towards the Group and individual watch brands, it will also help strengthen the synergy between Emperor Watch & Jewellery and its suppliers.
